HENRE meeting during ECR 2009

HENRE partners representing 16 European universities attended a meeting hosted by the University of Applied Sciences, Vienna during ECR 2009 to discuss the future of HENRE post European Commission funding. A number of HENRE partners representing European radiography professional societies were influential, with others, in the establishment of the European Federation of Radiography Societies (EFRS); Board members of which were also in attendance.
It was unanimously agreed at the meeting that to ensure an effective and efficient use of manpower, knowledge and resources that a detailed structural proposal will be put to the EFRS Board meeting in Strasbourg in May 2009 to establish HENRE as the educational wing of the EFRS. Val Challen, University of Cumbria, was nominated to be put forward as executive board member for the educational wing and will work closely with the EFRS board members to develop the structure of HENRE for this new phase.
HENRE partner members will shortly be receiving a formal letter of invitation to apply for affiliated membership of the EFRS.
